Job Description

Our client, a large broadacre and sheep farmer, is looking for an experienced Senior Farm Hand to join their family-owned operation in the Great Southern Region of WA. You will be joining a team of 5 permanent staff, with a progressive, forward-thinking employer, who places a strong focus on team building and employee satisfaction. Join a competent team, that will give you room to grow.
 
Good Things to Know:

  • Large family owned and operated broadacre and sheep enterprise;

  • Flexibility to build the role based on your preferences around stock/machinery operating;
  • Team of 6 – Farmer and 5 permanent staff, plus seasonal casuals;
  • 2 hrs drive to Albany, 4 hours to Perth;

About the Role:

  • Start date: ASAP;
  • Flexible role adaptable to your skill set/preferences;
  • Stock work – assisting in all aspects of stock work relating to sheep;
  • Cropping – assisting with seeding, harvest and cultivation;
  • Truck Driving;
  • Mechanical machinery maintenance and repairs;
  • General farm duties as required;

About you:

  • You will have extensive experience with either stock or cropping;
  • Be flexible to help with stock/cropping work during busy seasons;
  • Mechanically minded – ability to service, maintain, troubleshoot and carry out minor repairs;
  • Desirable:
    • Broadacre experience;
    • MC License with medical & fatigue management certificate;
    • Auschem/Chem Cert;
    • Strong mechanical background;

What’s on offer:

  • Salary: $80,000 – $115,000 depending on experience;
  • Accommodation: Small house suitable for singles available;
  • Work hours: 10 hour days;
  • Quality meals provided on long days/peak season;
  • Work vehicle provided;
