Senior Farm Hand, Gnowangerup WA

Job Description

Due to growth a dedicated Senior Farm Hand is required on a family-owned mixed enterprise with a 2,300Ha cropping program near Gnowangerup, WA in the Great Southern region of WA.  This role is suited to someone with a strong passion for broadacre farming. The farm is located only 5km from town, and has access to schools, sporting facilities, shopping etc. This role will suit a single, couple or family, the farm is in a period of growth and is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated person to come on this exciting journey with them.
 
Commencing February 2025   
 
About the Role:

• 80% cropping, 20% sheep work;
• Operating broadacre machinery;
• Working with the farm manager to undertake: seeding, spraying, spreading, harvesting and general maintenance;
• Action the agronomic and operational plans;
• Maintenance, servicing and basic repairs of machinery and equipment;
• Minimal sheep work: mustering, drafting, drenching.

About You:

• A passion for broadacre farming;
• Previous experience operating large broadacre machinery;
• Self-motivated, driven individual with good communication skills;
• Capable of working both independently as well as in a team;
• Good mechanical aptitude is desirable; 
• ChemCert and experience mixing chemicals is desirable.

What’s on Offer:

• Salary: $38+ per hour, depending upon experience;
• Hours: 5 days, 10 hours per day off-peak. 6 days, 12 hours per day during peak season;
