The client is a family-owned mixed enterprise located in the breathtaking Great Southern region of Western Australia, with stunning views of the Stirling Ranges. Their 4,600Ha property features a 2,600Ha cropping program and a significant Merino sheep operation. They are currently seeking a proactive and dedicated Stockperson to join their team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for someone with existing stock handling experience to advance their career while managing the Merino sheep enterprise. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day care and management of our sheep, ensuring their welfare and productivity. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, dedicated person who has a passion for farming, more specifically merino sheep and looking for a long term growth opportunity.

  • School bus past the front gate;
  • Excellent, well maintained machinery;
  • Less than 2 hours from the beach;
  • Close to all amenities and a great community.

About the Role:

  • Immediate start;
  • All aspects of sheep husbandry  (general care, drenching, vaccinations & treatments);
  • Feeding livestock;
  • Assisting with all livestock tasks;
  • General yard work and pasture rotation;
  • Maintaining water pumps and pipes;
  • Maintaining and constructing yards, fencing and water maintenance.

About you:

  • Have a passion for sheep industry ;
  • Must be experienced with livestock (sheep);
  • Must have own working dogs (desirable);
  • Knowledge of feed of sheep and stock condition;
  • Being able to work as a team and working productively on own; 
  • Honest and reliable – knows when to report issues with gear etc;
  • Preferably non-smoker;
  • C-Class drivers license is essential.

  • Salary: $28 per hour;
  • Standard hours Mon-Fri, extra hours required over peak seasons;
