Family farming mixed cropping & stock enterprise situated on the south coast of Western Australia in the beautiful region of Munglinup, WA are seeking a Senior Farm Hand to commence immediately. Consisting of 7,000ha of mixed cropping and sheep, with a few cows thrown in for fun. The main duties of this position include cropping assistance, machinery operations (including spraying), machinery maintenance as well as general farm duties & some livestock.  Suitable for a non-smoking candidate with strong broadacre machinery knowledge who doesn’t mind working with stock. The client is offering up to $90k depending on skills and experience, a house including utilities, a work vehicle as well as additional bonus’s for the right person.

  • Cropping 16,000 acres of wheat, canola, barley & hay / 2,000 breeding ewes, 200 cattle;
  • Located in Munglinup, 100km West of Esperance, 100km east of Hopetoun;
  • Closest town includes a primary school, secondary schools with boarding options, local supermarkets and IGA, Woolworths TAFE as well as a hospital & sporting facilities;

About the Role:

  • Immediate start; 
  • Team of 7;
  • Modern machinery;
  • All broadacre machinery operations including: seeder, chaser, header, sprayer;
  • Assisting with livestock where needed (sheep & cattle) 90% cropping & 10% livestock;
  • Machinery maintenance and workshop duties;
  • General farm hand duties, including fencing, general machinery servicing.

About you:

  • Must be experienced with all broadacre machinery including spraying;
  • Some stock experience ideal;
  • Ability to work well within a team;
  • Mechanically minded and experience with machinery maintenance;
  • Honest and reliable;
  • Good communication skills;
  • Non-smoker preferred;
  • Chemcert desirable;
  • C-Class drivers license essential, HR preferred.
