Job Description
Our client, a leader in Australia’s winemaking industry is seeking a passionate and skilled Operational Vineyard Manager to oversee its properties in the Frankland River region. Reporting to the Group Viticulturist, this is a fulltime hands on role which is pivotal to the success of the vineyards. They are looking for a dedicated hands on and experienced manager. You will be able to respond to new challenges, lead a team, maintain strong work ethic and consistently produce leading edge viticultural outcomes.

About the Role:
All aspects of management, planning and coordination of vineyard operations including:
- Oversee all vineyard operations, including planting, pruning, irrigation, spraying, harvest plans;
- Manage and supervise vineyard staff and contractors;
- Develop and implement vineyard management plans to maximise yield and quality;
- Monitor vineyard health and implement sustainable farming practices to ensure optimal productivity and quality;
- Oversee and schedule maintenance of machinery and equipment;
- Budget management and providing reports to the Group Viticulturist;
- Liaise with winemakers, neighbours, regulatory authorities, and other relevant stakeholders;
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
About you:
- A Degree or Diploma in Agriculture/Viticulture or similar is desirable;
- Proven experience in either a broad acre or vineyard management role;
- Excellent leadership and team management skills;
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions;
- Exceptional communication skills and experience building effective working relationships at all levels of an organisation;
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks;
- Forward-thinking with a strong work ethic;
- Ability to respond to challenges;
- Focused on safety, operational efficiency, and effectiveness with a commitment to site health and organic principles;
- Strong organisational and record-keeping skills;
- Forklift licence and Chemical handling experience are desirable;
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate vineyard machinery;
- Non smokers preferred.
