Job Description

A Heavy Vehicle Mechanic is required for a 16,000Ha cropping program split between two farms, main farm located 45kms from Gairdner in Western Australia. This role will cover all aspects of cropping, general farm duties and machinery maintenance. Would suit someone wanting to drive in and drive out of current location as hours are very flexible, however accommodation is also provided. Excellent package available including utilities, work Ute and negotiable salary. Excellent location to explore the beautiful coastlines near Bremer Bay with exceptional flexibility in working arrangements.

About the Role:

• Working alongside 5 full time employees and 3-6 additional seasonal staff;
• General farm maintenance/duties;
• Requirement to work approximately six weeks on secondary farm (3 hours north of Gairdner);
• Tractor Operating and truck driving:
  • Planting, spraying, fertilizing, harvesting;
  • Nurse truck, grain carting, moving machinery;
• Machinery maintenance – may include welding/fabricating/repairs.

About you:

• Experience in broad acre agriculture;
• Cropping experience with GPS and auto steer;
• Able to work well autonomously and in a team;
• Desirable:
  • HC/MC licence;
  • Mechanical knowledge and welding experience;
• Good communication skills.
