Job Description

A lovely family operated enterprise, located only 180km north of Perth in Western Australia, is looking for an experienced machinery operator to join their team for pre-harvest, hay and harvest season duties. Starting mid-September to Christmas, you’ll be working in a team of 6. Accommodation provided along with dinner in the busy period. 
 
*Our client is willing to pay top dollar for those with extensive hay and harvest experience* 
 
 
Good things to know:

  • Family operated property;
  • Cropping size: 3,200Ha;
  • Working in a team of 6;
  • Located less than 2 hours from Perth. 

About the roles:
 
Pre-hay/harvest duties: 

  • Delivering fuel, oil and clean-up work;
  • Mechanical work – setting up farm machinery in time for hay duties;
  • Fire breaks;
  • Some spreading.

Hay:

  • Mowing: New Holland self-propelled windrowers;
  • Swathing (if experienced);
  • Raking;
  • Telehander operation (to stack bales etc);
  • Operating a Krone Baler 1290 XC if experienced.

Harvest:

  • Chaser Bin Operator: Operating a Fendt 936 with 30T Grain King bin.

About you:

  • Essential Skills
    • Previous tractor operating skills;
    • Telehandler and loader skills;
    • Mechanically minded;
    • Good English speaking and communication skills;
    • Flexibility to do multiple duties – not just operate one machine;
    • Smoker/vaper OK but not in machinery, accommodation or in paddocks;
  • Desirable skills
    • Previous hay and harvest experience;
    • MC or HR licence;
    • Previous large broad acre machinery experience to operate mowers, telehandlers, chasers.

What’s on Offer:

  • Hourly rate: $30-$40 depending on experience;
  • Hours: during busy season – minimum of 12 hours, 6/7 days per week;
  • Accommodation: Donga with double bed, suitable for singles 
  • Meals: Evening meals provided during busy hay then busy harvest periods.
