General Farm Hand, Brookton WA
Job Description
A General Farm Hand is required on a mixed property with a 2,600Ha cropping program and sheep located near Brookton, Western Australia (155km south-east of Perth). Machinery operation and animal husbandry experience are essential. CASE and New Holland machinery. Attractive salary with accommodation and vehicle available.
About the role:
- All aspects of farming operations;
- CASE and New Holland machinery;
- Machinery operation during busy seeding and harvest periods – air seeding, deep ripping, chaser and truck driving;
- General farm duties such as fencing, paddock clean up, machinery maintenance, loader work, spreading, spraying;
- 2,000 Merino sheep + weaners – duties include feeding and yard work including drafting, drenching, marking
- Working in a team of 2.
About You:
- Experience with machinery operation and maintenance;
- Have a passion for the agriculture industry;
- Ability to work with technology;
- Ability to work independently;
- Willingness to work with sheep;
- Ability to listen and follow instructions;
- Honest, reliable, observant;
- Ability to work alone and part of a tea;
- Strictly non-smoking!

What’s on offer:
- Salary: Up to $85,000, depending on experience;
- Hours: Standard 8 hours per day, 5 days per week; up to 12 hours per day during seeding and harvest periods, 6-7 days per week;
- Accommodation: choice of a 4 bedroom, 1 bathroom house, or single bedroom in a self contained donga with utilities included;
- Work ute provided;
- Cooked dinner can be supplied during seeding and harvest periods;
- 20kms to Brookton township which has a School (Kindergarten to Year 10) with school bus passing by property, supermarkets, service station, Doctors surgeries, chemist, bank, hairdresser and more;
- 90kms to High School for Year’s 11 and 12 located in Narrogin.
