Job Description

An Agricultural Mechanic is required on a family owned and operated mixed enterprise, located in Ongerup, WA (located 1½ hours northeast of Albany).  Our client is looking for an individual who can carry out all mechanical maintenance, repairs & workshop duties across their 6,500ha crop and pasture property. Centrally located in a great community environment close to amenities.  Accommodation and access to work vehicle provided.

• 6,500Ha family owned and operated mixed cropping & livestock property;
• Located in Ongerup, WA – 1½ hours north-east of Albany;
• Vibrant community – closest town facilities include a primary school, supermarket, post office, cafes, tavern and a sporting complex;
• Size of team: 3 full timers plus seasonal casuals.

About the Role:

• Immediate start;
• Duties include: Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on all agricultural machinery and equipment;
• Maintain detailed service records;
• Manage workshop parts and reordering;
• Machine operation during seeding, spreading, spraying and harvest;
• Modern machinery including Agrifac with 49m Boom operation of Greenstar GPS and modern technology.

About You:

• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills – qualification highly regarded but not essential;
• Previous agricultural experience is highly favorite;
• Experience in welding and fabrication;
• Self-motivated with a positive “can do” attitude;
• Excellent proactive problem solving skills;
• Good planning and time management skills;
• Manual car license is essential;
• Smoker OK, non-smoking preferred but not essential.
