2 General Farms Hands required for a family owned and operated mixed enterprise that runs a self-replacing merino sheep flock that joins 11,000 ewes and peaks at 25,000 over 6 different locations in Kojonup, Tambellup and Boyup Brook, Western Australia. They run an easy care, low wrinkle, modern merino and are always striving to push to the next level with genetics and management.  Ideally the right candidates will have previous experience working with sheep, be good operators and able to work well within a team. There is also the potential for partners to work in a nanny position.

  • Located 15km from Tambellup WA and 35km form Kojonup WA;
  • Nearest town Tambellup facilities include: Sporting, post office, primary school, Kojonup includes a thriving Sporting club , primary and secondary school to Year 10, banking, theatre/arts;

About the Role:

  • Immediate start;
  • Duties: assisting with all aspects of livestock management;
  • Overseeing health and welfare of stock inc. drenching, needling, back lining;
  • Running the process of joining, scanning, lamb marking, crutching, weaning and shearing;
  • Analyzing pastures;
  • Operating feed carts, hay rollers, augurs, tractors and feeding sheep;
  • General farm hand duties;
  • Machinery maintenance of farm Utes, tractors and motorbikes;
  • Size of team: 5.

About you:

  • Must be experienced working with livestock (sheep);
  • Ability to work in a team;
  • Honest and reliable – knows when to report issues with gear etc;
  • Smokers OK;
  • Manual driver’s license essential.

What’s on offer:

  • Salary: $30 per hour; 
  • Standard working hours: 5-6 days per week, 38-50 hours;
  • Accommodation: Not available, must have own accommodation;
  • Work vehicle & running costs provided;
